Wecome to

Trailing

Thunderbolt

Victory

A travel blog in honor of John A. Schubert

My current overseas job provided me with the perfect opportunity to knock out a big "bucket list" item: retracing the path of my grandfather's WWII unit in Europe.  This blog is for anyone who wants to follow along or is interested in learning more about the larger history and military context surrounding his story.

I highly recommend visitors start by reading (or reviewing) CPL Schubert's memoir.  I have added section headers to help with geographical transitions and endnotes based on my active duty Air Force experience (including Army weather support), education at Army Command & General Staff College, and basic internet research over the past several years.

About Me

I'm an Airman, meteorologist, and now a semi-anonymous blogger.  While I want to share my grandfather's story and my associated travels with family and friends, I have no desire to become viral on the internet.  When we brief weather to pilots in the military, we exchange initials to make the briefing legal...  so here I'm TS (Tango Sierra).
